Conditions
Air Temp – 18>15°c
Water Temp - 15°c
Light wind and overcast
Evidence of sewage fungus (grey/white coating of rocks indicating excessive organic pollution)
Take heed of the need for biosecurity. We spent time washing all equipment of contaminant and odour. Not a good way to end what was otherwise an enjoyable day!

Seven wbt caught fishing mainly spiders with a weighed nymph on the point. Four on snipe and purple, one on Partridge and orange, one one on weighted hares ear and one one cdc feathers fly. Four caught in Alexander's, one about thirty metres from the very bottom of the beat and two on the top of the beat at abernant stream. Nothing big but all fish in good health and returned. Nice to catch one on a dry for at abernant stream. Best two in attached photo's.

.76 on the gauge sunny and warm fished top of the beat for first time am, most of that water accessible and fishable at current levels and flows, patience & caution rewarded with 3 fish 10 - 12 ins from edw pool and below taken sub surface on weighted hares ear and spiders . Further down the beat hatches of fly life smuts/midges and small sedges blown upriver on the wind midday to late afternoon rising splashy youngsters - great fun fishing drys, couldn’t tempt any of the better fish from their lies. A great day on a great beat - thank you.

River quite high compared to previous visits. Despite the sun a very cold day. Caught a nice size grayling on a beaded hairs ear nymph below a klink, two small trout about an hour apart. Quite a busy hatch about 12:00 but no takers. Had the occasional snatch on my klink but nothing to indicate a switch to dries. Did I mention it was very cold ?

Very cold morning to start at 3 c. Fished spiders and a gold head flashback hares ear on the point. All fish apart from one caught on the top end of the bottom part of the beat. The brownie was caught at the very bottom of the beat. Managed the obstacle course for the top of the beat which is not easy for an old man. Usually catch up there but nothing this time. Greenwells spider, Partridge and orange and the flashback caught the fish. Still a bit slippery under foot in places.
