The height and clarity were great and the conditions not too bad, but the slight easterly and chilly wind seemed to make it more difficult than it might have been on a warmer day. A few LDOs were seen but nothing else. There were maybe 3-4 rises seen during the day. All bar one of our fish were taken on nymphs. A very enjoyable day.

Arrived about midday to find the river in fine condition. Trout throughout the beat but some decent sized grayling in amongst them, biggest around 17ins.

Conditions a bit different from last week. Overcast with an occasional upstream breeze. Decided to give the French leader a go today. Found grayling, but only small Shotts. Landed 8 on a ptn pattern fished deep.

Arrived to find a lovely looking river , great flow and clear but at the peak of the leaf fall.
Fishing was tough with only 1 lady caught and an OOS trout.
