Fair bit of sunshine about this morning so I opted for dries. Klinkhammers and sherry spinners sparked interest on Lady Alexanders catch, but I couldn't connect. Switched to hares ears and ended the day with two small brownies and a decent graying.

good fishing in the morning, nymphing with French leader. Switch to dry in the afternoon, but not much activity, Just 4 graylings. It is a been pleasure sharing the beat with another gentle angler, coming from London too, enjoying together such pleasant day.

My first time on the River Wye; a lovely stretch of river. Nothing rising but managed a few lovely trout on a tungsten nymph.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to thank the Wye and Usk Foundation and The Fishing Passport for putting me in touch with Chris Price/Casting with Style.

Through the passport, and then by follow-up phone calls to W & U Foundation, we narrowed our choice down to Mr Price when booking a group beginners` session for a number of us.

Chris Price was fantastic; as well as being a great, patient teacher, well-equipped and knowledgeable, he was fantastically enthusiastic about the nature and precious environment that we experienced during our day(not just fish, but the waterways, surrounding ecology and other wildlife!)

I would wholeheartedly recommend Mr Price to novice and expert alike, we really enjoyed our day with him and feel we truly began to fully appreciate the delicate balance between sport fishing and the wonderful, beautiful, yet fragile environment around us.

Many thanks again!

An occasional grayling and trout. One quite large grayling and mid sized brown trout. Lots and lots of parrs though, on larger flies. However nothing damaged, all released. Hope they'll grow nice and big!

3 nice browns around 1 lb each, taken from around the rocks at Stone Catch. Really easy wading at Lady Alexanders Catch and this was the most productive area fished. Most fish were taken on size 20 pheasant tail nymph. At the head of this pool fish were rising to dries - emerger mainly.

2 x trout 9-14 inches, 1 x grayling 13 inches. The recent rain was enough to produce a 2 or 3 inch and very dirty rise in the water level this morning, which probably suppressed the trout and grayling activity. Good as far as it goes, but we need a lot more to flush the muck out of the river bed.
