An occasional grayling and trout. One quite large grayling and mid sized brown trout. Lots and lots of parrs though, on larger flies. However nothing damaged, all released. Hope they'll grow nice and big!

3 nice browns around 1 lb each, taken from around the rocks at Stone Catch. Really easy wading at Lady Alexanders Catch and this was the most productive area fished. Most fish were taken on size 20 pheasant tail nymph. At the head of this pool fish were rising to dries - emerger mainly.

2 x trout 9-14 inches, 1 x grayling 13 inches. The recent rain was enough to produce a 2 or 3 inch and very dirty rise in the water level this morning, which probably suppressed the trout and grayling activity. Good as far as it goes, but we need a lot more to flush the muck out of the river bed.

Was interesting to be able to see nearly every feature of the river bed with polaroids on when the water level is so low;Looks a different river. Was prospecting for chub ,but after 20 mins in nearly every run without a touch I put the coarse rod away & fished with a dry fly stripped through the faster water. I'm sure one of the trout was not a wild brownie ,but had all the hallmarks of a 'stockie'?

Surpised to encounter feeding fish after such a run of hot weather, but thanks to Oliver Burch, we did. Water temps stayed low enough, and this fish struck on drys (sedge, adams para, kilnks) as well as wets under the surface. Great spot and so easy to cast here. Salmon parr seem numerous and voracious as 6 were hooked. All fish under 9" and were released.

The water was at the lowest that I have ever fished here with just 4" on the Llanstephan guage. A blessedly cloudy and cool (by recent standards) day at 20 degrees max. 17 degrees water. Very few rising fish here and there during the course of the day and little fly apart from some midge. Tried nymphs and a size 18 HE emerger and, whilst I had fish on both, by far the majority came up for the emerger and, as usual to this fly at this time of year, these were mainly non-risers. Unsurprisingly, I found grayling in places one can't usually get to and not in places where you usually can! Grayling from 8-13" and trout to 12". An interesting day but lethal underfoot with lots of algae on the slabs at the top end of the beat. Great job strimming the access to the upper half of the beat! Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!
