Fished one of the deeper swims and found plenty of chub but sadly no barbel. Chub ranged from 1-4 pounds.
Beautiful venue. Good access in the dry.

Fished the peg above the beach. The chub were obliging despite the swimmers, paddle boarders and the 20 people that got off their kayaks and had a BBQ on the beach! Not really peaceful but that's not the fault of the Wye and Usk foundation.

Another hot day, arrived to see chub spawning on the gravel on the far bank, quite a spectacle that lasted for several hours.
But plenty of chub 3-5lbers still feeding in one swim, but very hard for the other angler.
Access good in places

A hot day. Barbel unhooked in the water, rested ,swam off strongly. All fish caught on Robin red pellets.
Lovely stretch and the gravel beach makes access to the river fairly easy.
Water temp 21.3c.

Fished very hard, fished multiple pegs and baited them in advance before moving. Would recommend taking some float gear, lovely glides.

Main methods were swim feeder and rolling meat. Other was an eel

River level good but rather worryingly brown and cloudy, rafts of foam in trees on opposite bank in places seemingly going nowhere.
Which given how little rainfall the region has had throughout the last 2 weeks is no doubt yet another consequence of something being seriously wrong!

Fish came throughout the day on pellet/feeder and rolled meat. Couple of barbel lost too. Largest chub 4-13 and largest barbel 8-8
