Was tough going in the worst conditions possible today. Managed 13 chub and 1 perch while rotating the pegs on trotting and feeder tactics. Couple of the chub over 3lb the rest quite small. Perch 1lb 6 on boilie lol, not sure that counts.
We may of lost a barbel while trotting the far side but other than that no sign of the barbel.
A few of the pegs are quite snaggy so we snagged up a few times, recommend tying up quite a few hook lengths.
Big positive was being able to drive the length of the stretch due to the dry conditions we have had.

We arrived to a coloured river, started in the first swim on the corner and had the only barbel of the day 5.5lbs. Moved down to the boat house and had most of the chub that came in the day to 4 lbs. Then fished the beach and had a few more chub before moving back to the corner swim for a few more chub. Lovely stretch will be back.

Nice venue, and very picturesque opposite the National Trust gardens. Car access to the river is a big plus... Need to take it steady though in an estate, no problem in a 4x4. We had to work for the bites, on both float and feeder fishing and whilst we had numbers most chub averaged just under a pound! Good sign for the future but not a sign of a barbel... where have they gone! Be prepared to loose a few feeders and have hooklink cut as they're seems to be alot of rocks in some swims.

Rain made the banks slippery would advise using a dog spike and rope to make access to swims safer.
