We were a bit concerned about the weather before we started but apart from 2 brief showers the brolley was packed dry at the end of the day. The fishery was alive with Chub in the 1-2lb bracket that we caught mostly on float to make an entertaining day. One Barbel of 6.14 . Lost a bit of tackle in the underwater snags. Beautiful setting and parking behind your swim but I wouldn’t attempt the driving track unless you have a 4 x4 otherwise you might get stuck

Conditions damp river slightly coloured intermittent showers. Fished from 6.30am -8.30 pm. Warning of skidding on the track is correct as the 4x4 did and really the track offers fairly low clearance for cars. Location offers good fishing in a beautiful setting. Really only two decent access points which is a shame as this makes it impossible to roam.
One of the swims has a fairly rocky snaggy bottom plus branches to the left causing the potential loss of fish. This said a lovely spot to spend the day. Primarily feeder used but float also caught.

Bit of a change from last week at Middle Hill where I had an excellent session. Today was poor with continuous rain in the afternoon with only two small chub to show from my efforts. The river was up a fair bit more than the previous week and a few cooler nights didn’t help but still expected more from here. The lower section of the beat is pretty much wasted which is a shame as in certain conditions & times of the year I’d expect fish to move into the slower water. The scenery and surroundings of the Wye never disappoint
2 Chub
