Ledgered meat did the trick!!
The river was flowing just right but dont take nothing for granted at this time of year, we knew it wasnt going to be easy!!!
Our first day was 2 barbel to 5lb...
And 4 chub to just over the 4lb...
Not a bad start to our 4 day session...

The smallest barbel I’ve ever seen.. about 10 inches long and under a pound.. perfection in miniature. The other one was 9lb 10 oz. A great day.

River approx 2 ft lower than when I came on Saturday and all colour gone running low and clear,chub 5lb 9oz and Barbel a double 10lb 3oz caught early on nothing for the rest of the day.Luncheon meat and feeder method used.

River with good colour and height sunny conditions all day not ideal but managed 4 good chub and a solitary barbel the other was an Eel of about 2lb,all taken luncheon meat.

River fast and coloured although started to drop in the afternoon. We fished hard in difficult circumstances without much reward, lost a Barbel late on when conditions improved.

Fished one of the weir pool swims. Started on the float with meat and had 4 chub to 3lb. Changed to feeder in the afternoon with pellets and had a slightly bigger chub at dusk. The river was visibly rising by late afternoon but was still very clear.
All in all a slow and difficult day and very wet and windy.
