Very difficult day with rain and strong winds most of the day. We managed to catch 3 Barbel up to 8lbs and 6 Chub the best just over 4lb. This venue is a excellent spot to fish but be prepared for several snaggy swims due to rocks and weed.

Great to be back here at Canon Bridge, another dry sunny day, river still quite high but looking good. Got a take on first cast within seconds and the rest were steady throughout the day. Another perfect day on the Wye, doesn’t get any better!

Fished from 1pm onwards, conditions good with plenty of colour to the water from the recent rain. Both Barbel 8-10 pounds and all Chub under a pound. Caught on pellets.

Fantastic day fishing at Lower Canon Bridge. Had 8 barbel in all and lost 2. Largest was a touch over 10lb and the smallest just over 5lb. Average were 6/7lb. I used a single 12mm boiley on a free running rig with a 2.5 oz gripper lead. I didn’t bother with too much loose feed as the water was fairly coloured so figured the fish would be moving about.

Very sad day for my son. River was too high to fish, with only two accessible pegs. Water too fast and visibility zero. Lots of debris catching on the line and feeder.
Used lots of tried and trusted methods that he'd used on other rivers, but not a bite here on the Wye.
I feel sorry for my son, as he's been waiting ages to fish the Wye. Had I known the river would have be like this, I wouldn't have booked the day for him.

Torrential rain from before breakfast didn't make conditions any easier the river was visibly rising through the morning. We caught a barbel of circa 8lb and 2 chub first thing and then packed up at lunchtime.

Glorious day but river unrecognisable from past year's. the beach swims were completely under water and a torrent of brown water was passing through. Managed a barbel of 8.25lb and two chub of 3.5lb each from finding some slacker water swims. All caught in later afternoon.

Lovely beat with good access. Fishing was slow through the day but picked up during the evening. All fish caught using feeder with pellet/boilie. Will be back in the autumn.
