Fly Fished the whole beat, saw 1 resident salmon in Vanstone. No pulls. Lovely height to fish the fly.

Water in good condition, fished whole beat on the fly first and lower section with spinner later in the day, no salmon caught or seen.

Water in great condition saw 1 salmon didn’t touch thing!!

End of March with zero rain, river looking lovely alas no Salmon..

Water looked spot on, nice to get out and get the season underway, albeit with the highly expected blank. . 2 fish seen though in the bottom of Vanstone, one looked a good fish but not interested in anything I offered fly or tin. Access improved from a few years ago with some strimming and overgrowth removal. Beautiful place to be on a spring day.

Fished dawn till dusk on fly, not much doing apart from a good fish showing at very bottom of the beat and a solid pike that got me thinking. Superb spring day with the river in great nick, great to be out!

I've been meaning to fish this beat for a while, glad I did it's a wonderful place with some great fly water. No Salmon but I caught an escapee brook trout which had me going for a minute and baffled as it came to hand! Thanks the other rod Ben for his advice and I hope to return asap.
