No fish caught.

All a bit tricky due to strong wind, low water and plenty of sun

One hooked and lost in The Stones in the morning before the sun started to properly have an effect . Didn't see any fish after around 11.30.

Lots of fish seen throughout the beat, one lost and one landed from the Vanstone pool.

Lovely stretch of river, and plenty of varied water to fish. The Wye was quite low at 0.29m on the Ross gauge, but there was still enough flow in the pools to swing the fly. Weather was hot and bright but salmon were showing in The Vanstone and Stones pools, some of which were probably residents. I didn’t get any takes until after 5pm but then landed a coloured 28” cock salmon (estimated around 8lb), and hooked another fish that threw the hook with a head thrash. Both were on a small red Francis (size 12) in Vanstone.

Fly fishing for salmon at Goodrich Court. No fish caught by either rod.

A very warm day so it was always going to be reduced chances of hooking anything. Arrived early, just as mist was clearing - a few fish showing. Couldn't tempt anything though. Quietened further in the afternoon.

The beat is bookable for four rods but i think this would only work for a party of four friends. There were two other fishermen today which made it all a bit tight. A nice day on the water nonetheless.
