12 trout between the 2 rods, biggest just under 1.5lbs. A heavy grannom hatch on the Usk today (but hardly any olives) with plenty of fish rising. A couple on PT nymph and klinkhammer but most fell to a Dave Collins grannom emerger.
A really nice beat with access about as easy as it gets. The salmon pools look great and will be well worth a go when levels are higher.

12 WBT shared between 2 rods and many more missed. All fish were a good size with a couple at 2lb and 1.5lb. There was a huge Grannom hatch that lasted most of the day, bringing fish to the surface until around 6pm. Most took CDC & Elk Hair fished on a long leader. A great day's fishing!

Great day. Sunny and windless and in high teens after frosty start Started at 11 and had two(returned) just under a pound browns in first hour on tups indispensable and a number of rises and takes. After lunch in pub returned and had one more take and then afternoon went flat. Stayed to 6.30 but nothing moved. Really nice place to fish. Water low and very clear.

Beat is priced for Salmon or Trout fishing so I practised my Spey casting while wading downstream and changed over to a Trout rod on the way back upstream. All I got was practice on the way down, but two 12" WBT coming back both to Deer Hair Sedge and both returned to the water. Attractive beat, easily accessed, but some stiff currents which need a bit of care while traversing.

Dark olives and a few march brown trickled off from 11am. Downstream wind and chill made it tough. Enough fish rising to keep a dry on the end, and managed 3 fish, 2 under a pound and one very well conditioned 14"er, all on a dry March Brown.

An average days fishing, river fast running and clear. One 12in Brownie caught, on a dry, (klinkhammer), two lost. If I wasnt moving to Yorkshire shortly I would certainly return to this one again.
