First time on the lake, a mixed bag weather wise with sunshine and showers early on followed by persistent rain all afternoon. Nevertheless our patience was reward with 3 carp of 9lb, 10lb (taken of the top on bread) and a superb common of 17lb 2oz taken on corn under the rod tip by the old oak tree. Will be back on a dryer day!!

Mixed conditions - sunny spells, overcast, rain and heavy wind.
Four fish landed and one run where the hook did not set. All four were common carp and in excellent condition. Weights were; 15lbs, 12lbs, 20lbs! and finally another 15lb.
The cows were very friendly!

Fished dam end of lake and it was slow going. One carp 13lb and another 5 lost due to hook pulls which was mistifying.
Another crazy weather day which sums up this spring.

Warm sunshine and showers throughout the day. Baited a few swims on arrival but in the end stayed in my first choice by the oak. Bites came all day and managed to land 14 hard fighting commons some of which were heavily in spawn
fish ranged from 9lb up to 17lb

Beautiful location, easy enough to find. The weather was hot and sunny with clear skies after a cold night. Not always an omen for a good day.
The water was the colour of builders tea when we arrived, with numerous smaller carp of around 3-6lb heads down sifting through the mud at the car park end of the lake, unfortunately none of them were remotely interested in our baits and after a good hour of trying it was clear we needed to try elsewhere. We continued down the lake and set up near the oak tree, sadly that end of the lake was a similar colour and no carp where seen all day, none cruising, no leaping fish, nothing at all. My brother managed some silvers on float and feeder tackle but the carp never made an appearance. A beautiful venue, but if there are carp in here they didn't want to play today.

No sign of any carp, either visibly or in terms of bites, when using pellets, corn or meat. Though the lack of success with the carp could say more about the fisher than the fish. Plenty of smaller fish about though, esp roach and ?hybrids. Easy access to both fishery and the water. Fished by the oak tree at the far end if only coz it offered shade on an unseasonally hot day. Water cloudy (pres. due to the cattle?) and visibility zero.

10 carp over 3 days, lack of bites due to the hot and humid conditions I think. Lost a couple of larger fish but ones landed
were all hard fighters immaculate ranging from 8lbs up to 17lb.
