Only my third visit to this beat and knew it would be difficult due to the sun not the weight of water running down. Had to share with two other anglers but there is enough water on this beat. Fished nymphs on jig hooks all day but couldn't get on the many missed bites. Very deep in places but the slippery grass caught me out even with my wanding staff. Easy parking
and easy access to the water makes this a beat to come back to.

7-8lb freshish cock fish from Ash pool on a 3 inch wing black and yellow monkey. Hit it just right, river perfect

River was high and fish quite spooky. Not much hatching throughout the day, but landed a few smaller trout. Lovely beat!

Endured the rain for 2 hours then left. Didn’t see any fish rising maybe it was the mink we saw that scared them off.

Beautiful spot. Lovely day, one fish seen, nothing rising, nothing caught.

Lovely day but a little windy, sunny and river level low. Plenty of fly life but little sign of feeding fish. 2 brown trout, 1 on nymph from the deeper water and 1 sub surface. Saw an otter in the evening so moved!

Tough day, and blanked. Circumstances meant a late start and absolutely nothing happened in the way of significant hatches or fish activity from midday to 20:00. Some fish rising but very few and far between. Stiff downstream breeze not helping and river seems 6" lower than ideal. Brought one fish up to a 16 Para Adams on Penlanole Pool but everything downstream of this area utterly dead.
Lovely beat notwithstanding. Will try again.
