As everyone said, a very pretty bit of water. The fish were certainly not giving themselves up, but did manage to get 4 small brown trout and an 7" sea trout during the course of the afternoon to evening. Loads of fly life, but very little surface takes so all mainly caught on gold head GRHE nymphs.

Terrible weather, but a beautiful beat. Tough fishing through the rain and wind. But a nice 1lb fish caught high up on the beat on a nymph.

A still, warm and rather cloudy day with river conditions and fly life very like when I fished Dolgau last Friday, and with much the same result! The fly fishing "dog days" are with us for sure. Very few upwings apart from some pale wateries; some sedges and, later in the day, yellow sally stonefly - so nothing much to stimulate fish to get off their backsides and get up in the water! A few small trout sipped off and on during the day, on what, I am not sure. Fished with various surface/emerger and terrestrial patterns, duo, spiders and nymphs. Had just seven trout including two nice 14" fish and one 12" grayling on a couple of small hare's ear and olive emergers. A few tugs and dropped fish on the lift on the spiders and nymph - small fish I suspect. It's tough now for sure. Maybe I missed the best of the day's fishing by going home at 5.30p.m. to watch a recording of the Lions match earlier in the day?!

Lovely beat. Started fishing about midday, no signs of any fish showing on top switched to a small gold head lure and managed to catch two small brown trout. Fish until 6.30pm.

Two trout , the biggest just under a pound and a half and one out of season grayling.
A day of lots of missed chances and one very good fish lost. Fish were moving throughout the day mainly in the faster water - all the fish taken and missed were to a variety of dry flies.

A beautiful river and, on this occasion superb conditions however, despite seeing a number of large trout in the crystal clear water, none could be tempted by dry flies or nymphs. Indeed there seemed to be very little feeding activity all day despite numerous mayfly hatches and swarms of smaller flies near the surface. Suspect this would be good grayling water later in the year.

Fished from 4 to 7pm. Lots of fly life - mostly olives, midges and a few yellow may duns - but not many fish rising. Found some coming to the surface in the Lower Craiglyn Pool and had a couple of small trout there to a cdc olive. Missed quite a few other takes, mostly on klinkhammer and nymph before ending with a superb 2lb 4oz (weighed in net) out of season grayling on a nymph from the tail of Llandiro Pool.

Not even a bite, the river was quite low, try all sorts of different flies. Beautiful place and thoroughly enjoyable day.

A nice day with fish coming to both upstream nymph and dry. Best patterns were CDC dun & Baetis nymph. There was a significant hatch of olives around 1pm which got the fish looking upwards but it was soon spoilt by a strengthening downstream wind. A pike of 6 or 7 pounds was spotted lurking near the head of one of the pools too. Thanks WUF & landowner.
