Bright hot day. Plenty of smaller bugs about. Some fish rising sporadically through the day. Water lovely and clear . Only 2 takes on emergers and no hook ups I'm afraid. Richard the beat owner was kind enough to come and say hello and recommend flies. Will return.

Despite a significant Sedge hatch, we didn’t catch or see a single fish, not even a rise. River bed is covered in brown slime, with foam floating on the surface - we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Zero degrees this morning(first time I've seen that this winter) Spent several hours fishing the pools below the bridge, not something I enjoy doing and these ones are particularly difficult, maybe they are easier from the other side, I don't know. Only a couple of fish to show for a lot of hard work. The rest caught above the bridge, again not easy but worth the reward. All fish caught on nymphs , grayling to 14".

Fog on the Wye- Grayling were shy! We didn't catch up with the shoals- we might need to cover the water more quickly.

Seriously W&U!? Only tackle this section below the bridge if you have Mountain Goat DNA! The “path” down the left bank was highly overgrown and frankly very dangerous under foot. The levels were good but access to the water poor.
Upstream of the bridge the first 200 yards much better access but slippy underfoot - be careful. After this, named salmon pools with limited access again. In my opinion, this is not a viable Grayling fishery.
