Mild morning, river with a good pace and a hint of colour. I fished 3 different swims on the waterworks straight, using all my standard fish catching methods and baits that normally work , without a bite. Still a pleasant day and Paul had a good one at least.

Settled in peg opposite the waterworks. Water was a bit up but not much colour so thought it would be tricky. After a couple of bungs I pulled out a lovely barbel, shade under 9lb on 10ml pellet, suggesting things might go ok after all. After that, nothing. Tried a variety of baits to no avail.

10 degrees but with a nip in the air. 0.27 at Ross and clear, but with a decent pace and a 12.6 degree water temp. All 3 of us started down the bottom for a fruitless 3 hours between 4 swims. Moved up in the afternoon and two of us managed a barbel each around 1500, 5lb and 6.05lb, one on 10mm halibut, other on 14mm Robin Red Packed at 1630
2 Barbel
