A day of mixed emotions, very low and slow river. Eventually found the fish but was hounded by canoes. There was well over 100 slammed into the bank I was literally sat on broke my line about 10 times and finally broke my net. So what should have been a great day was ruined by ignorant canoeists. Something needs to be done about this.

Stunning scenery here. It’s great you can drive along the bank and drop gear off on way to parking area. Fished mid section and down bottom and eventually found some bites after a slow start. Had one Barbel 6 1/2 pound and 3 nice sized Chub. Fished simple feeder tactics with pellet and boilie. Would visit again.

One Chub 2lb and a 9lb 5oz Barbel from the swim nearest the stile, parking area side. Other angler nothing not a bite. Cows a problem, they chased us off the far field so we could not fish the favoured swims the far side of the stile on the beach area. Pleased with the 9lb 5oz Barbel of course, but the cows very aggressive

Between the two of us we caught nothing, not a bite. The cows were a nuisance, they had young bullocks in with them.
River quite low but was fishable the Pump station swim was un-accessible.

Early morning produced Barbel and 1 chub from to feeder and meat. Moved to a couple of swims above the island and float fished for no fish till the canoe traffic got too heavy, around 10.30.
Afternoon session from 4pm till dusk stick float fished meat over hemp, 11 chub, 2 over 4ld and one went 5ld 2oz. Really enjoyable evening in the chesties, river very low and clear.
I fished on the bank holiday Sunday and the weather was hot, I thought there was a huge amount of canoe traffic once the hire operators got going around 10am where I was. There is also public access to the river just below the island and because of this there were still a good number of boats and paddle boards around till 6pm. But I was still getting bites when they were around .
The “other” fish was an Eel!
