please see my comments on 19th June about the swims. Fishing wise it was Ok for a river that was low, I only fished a few hours and had a Barbel of 9-11 and a Chub of 5-12. Canoeists became a problem quite early in the day, managed to hook one but it got away.

4 Chub up to 6lb and just the 1 barbel from the island at the furthest point downstream. Both my girlfriend and I loved our first proper session at Home fishery and will most certainly be coming back. All caught on a swim feeder and pellet

For the number of anglers on this section there was a limited number of swims that are safe to fish. This is made worse when it has been raining or is raining as the banks become very slippery. A little work by the fishery management would make it much easier for the anglers to have a more comfortable experience when fishing this section and it could open up more swim options
Fishing Passport Note: the banks of both the Wye and Usk are protected as a Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs). There are, therefore, strict limits as to what can be done with regards bank clearance, which has to be done sensitively and in compliance with the law. Inevitably there will be many inaccessible sections, especially in the peak bank growth months of July and August. We ask all anglers to please bear this in mind when booking Fishing Passport beats and not to assume fishery managers are not doing their job if some areas are overgrown.

River was low and slow and fishing was similar. One barbel to 8lbs for 3 anglers with odd chub in 4lbs bracket. Weather conditions overcast but warm with a light wind.
