Both fish caught using the Duo method, fish taken on the dropper, small pink scud.
Water was coloured but good height. Access to the river very restricted at the bottom of the beat.
No fish rising at all. Parked at the church, couldn’t see how to access the left bank.

River running quite high, slight colour in water. I caught 8 lovely trout, with the best going around 2lb.
Fish were all in very good condition and fought very well indeed. All fish were returned to fight another day.
All fish were caught using a french leader and weighted nymphs. Really enjoyed my day here, will def return again soon, hopefully the Grayling will play on my next visit. Stunning river, with stunning surroundings.

Absolutely stunning beat with great birdlife. Fishing a little more tricky today with the rain now some time ago, but I managed a few on nymphs. Lots of parr and very small trout around - usually fell off the hook before being landed - but I had 3 which were 13-15". Best fish was in fact a super 16" grayling.

Two previous days of rocky river wading had taken its toll on an old knee injury. A short morning session nymphing caught a few Grayling up to 16”.

Lots of hungry fish as the river dropped back to a good height but still carrying a touch of colour. Most fish caught on nymphs but with more taking an Elk hair Caddis than yesterday. Smaller average size with the largest at 16”. Not too sure of numbers as I loose count after ten.

Good to get out, first trip of new season for me. Bright and sunny, bitterly cold wind though, somehow managed to pickup 2 small trout 6>8inches and one nice size grayling around 15 inches, that was it struggled for the best part without another touch. All returned safely.

If it wasn't for our accommodation being booked well in advanced I'm sure we'd of stayed warm and dry at home and not set out at 4am to fish during Storm Dennis! Nevertheless, we arrived at the river at around 7:30 and we were greeted by a rising river with decent clarity. We knew we only had a couple of hours so headed for a "banker" swim which never fails to produce a fish or two for us. Far from ideal conditions for trotting we managed to get amongst a few fish however with the best being a lovely Grayling of just under 2lb. We returned to the cars around lunch time cold, drenched and wind burnt but happy to get albeit it a small but necessary Grayling fix!

River looking nice but freezing fog persisted all day. Tough to locate fish but a few decent grayling caught trotting with maggots. One grayling just over 2lb and a huge OOS Brownie at around 5lb.
