Very bright, hot conditions, clear water made for a challenging day but a lovely spot. Trickle of fly life and little fish movement. 3 trout and 2 what looked like salmon parr. Success with parachute adams and cdc and elk in mid to lower reaches.

First time here, weather was overcast with the temperature half what it was yesterday at 11C. I walked the length of the beat which is very pretty, very peaceful and secluded but the first thing I noticed was a complete lack of insect life, however this was to change through the day as quite a number of small olives and small, pale yellow upwings started to emerge bringing the fish up with them. Although I had a few fish on a gold head nymph from the pool mid beat it was the large pool and the short stretch of river running into it where the beat starts that would provide most sport to dry flies later in the day. A challenging and very enjoyable days fishing with plenty of missed takes and lost fish, one quite big, to add to the total caught.

Cloudy bright, breezy, river in perfect order, but disappointingly a complete blank. Very few fish showing.

A tough day due to very low temperatures the day before, but river in fine form. Both anglers search hard for grayling but they alluded us, despite a few attentions from out of season brown trout. Temperatures plummeted again around 3pm. With warmer and more settled temperatures, the fishing would have been a lot easier, but searching is the name of the game at this time of year.

BBeautiful day, gin clear water. Lot of BT and grayling sipping and splashing. Had 8 takes to small k klinkhammers but failed to connect securely to any of them.

A windy, leafy, murky Irfon greeted us today, conditions played havoc with our offerings and only yielded one oos brown trout, all be it a good one who gave a cracking account of itself taking the dropper of a team of a silver beaded black and red nymph and a red tag on the point. A quiet end to another enjoyable trip to the regions waters, thanks as always to WUF.
