Nicely coloured slowly rising river. A beautiful setting, very long beat with a handful of fishable swims. We will be back. Feeder and pellet tactics
Thanks Wye and Usk

River was in great shape, about a metre ish at Ross and falling with settled weather. Expectations were high but fishing was tough. Tried pellet, luncheon meat and sweetcorn. Lone barbel was about 4 pound and both chub were bigger

The river was high and coloured after recent rain. We fished a halibut-based paste with swim feeders hoping to catch barbel but only managed to catch chub, from 1 1/2 lbs to 4lbs. Nonetheless, we had a good day. We did see 2 salmon jumping near the right bank during the day. We will be back!

Both anglers only fished half a day. Blanked and not even a knock. Beautiful setting and wildlife but tricky to find the swims and get the car parked anywhere near them given it is heavily wooded and you can't block the track as it is used by others.
There are a few side verges to park up but not many. When we arrived at 8am, others (syndicate members) had taken the decent, deeper swims and parking spots, leaving us scratching around for where to fish. Anyone fishing this beat for the first time should expect to spend quite a chunk of time covering the beat and working out where to fish. Very pretty though.

Double blank today - water was up overnight and felt markedly colder than earlier in the week, so we will blame that!

Foam on the river, looked like some form of pollution. I have never seen that before in all my years fishing on the Wye.
