A hard days fishing but eventually found the fish in far field. Caught on meat and pellet. Fish switched on around 2pm.

I would say with all the recent wet weather. The banks are dangerous and would be advisable to have spikes and rope for safety. For this reason this will probably be my last visit this season.

Tough day few Chub bites from the field bellow the woods, lost a couple of what felt like barbel, there is a snag in the first swim in the field below the woods, got cut off twice, tried other swims plenty of Chub rattles from smaller fish

Well, what a river. I had a look the day before, and it was just creeping back into the banks. Fished the next morning and it was 4 foot+ down. Full of colour and the leaves of an Autumnal storm. Trees and the spoils of along dry summer came through with every surge of force the Wye could muster. Fownhope delivers to those that venture into the wood swims, but this was a no go area, as the lucky stone was still being jet washed by the remains of the last rise.
I fished the top field, in the big corner slack. Fished to the edge of light and into another rain storm. My homemade pellet paste along with pellet, meat, and continueous feeders full of a good mix of a spicy Groundbait gave me fish up to 6lb. Really nice day again, but to be honest, tried a look in some other swims along that stretch, but it was all too much for any weight or hooklength i could deliver into the swirling depths.
I will be back.

after several 9lb fish this year it was great to finally get a double -10lb 6. i was happily picking off chub trotting a small lump of meat along crease line in the swims in the woods when i hit the barbel right and the end of the run. with a size 14 hook and 5lb hook length it took me a while to coax it to the net. feeder was hard work with all the debris coming down and too much pace on the water to fish up by the lucky stone.
