River colour and level good as was the weather - only chub on meat so changed to pellet but couldn’t find a barbel ……

Nice day on the Wye. My first this season actually. Happy to have had some nice chub and a bonus barbel. Rain made it extremely slippy down the banks, almost slid in a few times. By the time I packed up it was biblical rain!!

Colour dropped out of river during the day

River up and flooded and not many swims fishable but an enjoyable day nonetheless with 3 large barbel - biggest weighing 11lb 4oz. Plenty of chub around too. All on meat and halibut pellet.

Overcast and cold with showers. Big temperature drop from yesterday. River coloured with levels steadily dropping. Ledgered pellet and boilies. Caught throughout the day in the fields downstream of the woods. All chub approximately between 2lb-4lb.

River was up 2m with very strong flow which made fishing difficult . Only fished the afternoon but mamanaged to find the swims holding a few fish in the end . Large baits did the trick in the end.

Think again if you intend to fish here. Unless you like a long walk uphill some of the way then the only options are upstream and on the day we could only find 2 swims which were both too dangerous in the high water conditions. We were not prepared to take the risk and so went elsewhere but of course no refund or transfer of costs from the Wye and Usk
