Well let’s start with what a trek, underestimated the woods walk. It is brutal with all your gear but it’s worth it. Chub constant throughout the day, 10-15 around 4-5lbs as well as 2 barbel. Not massive, one about 1-2 lb other about 4lb. Lost a barbel that felt a good 7lber. All in all a great days fishing. A bit confusing getting to the spot, walked round to the end of the wood to find a locked gate saying go round the wood. No way was that happening so we had to hop it. A bit more direction on this would be good, also maybe a sign at the car park to direct anglers around to the right so you’re not walking through someone’s garden lol. Bloke fishing the weir and must have been from about half hour - hour before sunset. Had an altercation with him as he wanted the whole weir and end of weir to himself, pretty selfish in my eyes but as he wanted a peaceful days fishing he moved on. Just a tip, don’t break the rules and I won’t break the unwritten rules ;) Hope he bagged up and had a good day anyway. Would definitely go again and would highly recommend.

2 Barbel, 65 Chub

Only 2 anglers fished, river still very low. Fished the Lucky Stone area. Chub were hungry all day - trotting and maggot feeder outfished “standard” Barbel tactics. Only picked up one Barbel on the float mid-morning. We thought the Barbel might arrive later in the day but they obviously had other ideas. Great to be by the river as always.

Fairly steady action from the area below the woods. Best barbel was just over 10lb and the best Chub was 4.5 lb. All fish fell to pellet and hemp feeder tactics. Lost a couple of barbel too and a pike took a liking to my feeders on the retrieve - on 3 occasions - hungry girl!

Very low water conditions with a lot of small chub. The two larger barbel came in the very late evening at last light.

Good fishing for 2x days with dry weather conditions. The first day I had hook x4 chub my friend add 1 chub and 1 barbel we fish till dusk. Day two we fished down Stream. With 4x more chub and 1 barbel . We finished at dusk I was very happy for our successful fishing trip looking forward to next year. I think the water conditions was good and the weather was excellent I noticed the water level was slightly lower then last year.
