Intended to fish the Lucky Stones but water levels made that a bit treacherous and after losing 2 lots of feeder tackle in the rocks I moved down to a comfy grass peg below the wood. In the lashing rain I had 14 chub, all to feeder and boilie.

first visit to this stretch...plenty of flood water pushing through, but found some slack water in a swim in the woods. two decent barbel 7 1/2 and 9 1/2 - both on feeder/corn...only fished for 1/2 a day (wedding anniversary takes priority apparently).
Not sure what all the fuss is about the walk - although i did have the good lady to carry a few things for me - oh and not convinced she believed that 27th anniversary is luncheon meat...but i bought her a tin anyway

River conditions looked perfect chocolate colour and slowly rising (2ft in 6hrs) but results were disappointing. Fished the furthest upstream peg and was pleased to find a backwater
eddy on the near bank, I fished the crease just beyond the eddy 3 rods out. Fished feeder and lead with pellet, boillie and garlic meat and the smelly meat proved best. Very heavy rain and called it a day after 6 hrs.

River was heavily coloured and up 1.5mtrs. Fished the far upstream peg where there was a crease and backwater. Very slow but managed a decent barbel and chub on garlic meat. Got soaked.

Disappointed with access to swims on top part of length. One swim had a 2 foot diameter tree laying right across the access slope to the river. Extremely dangerous to climb over
