We caught 14 Barbel to 8lb 9oz & 52 decent Chub with 5 fish over 5lb with the remainder between 3lb & 4lb. This should be our last day on the Wye this year (might come back next month), thanks again WUF for arranging access to the fisheries.

The Canadian Geese population seems to have escalated and much to the dismay of a group of paddle boarders they took off on mass and flew downstream a few feet alarmingly over their heads...having to duck on a paddle board is not recommended but fortunately they all stayed dry!!
We caught a load of quality Chub and having arrived late morning it was pretty much non stop action all day...no preference for bait...whatever we lobbed out was swiftly consumed....Only 2 of us fishing with just one good Barbel caught but the other rod had the consolation of a beautiful Perch of 1lb 10oz.....Always good for us on the Creel and we expect it will fish pretty well for the rest of the season.

Disappointed land owner was cutting overhanging tree's on the river bank and letting all the debris drift by for most of the day. Made the top half of the fishery un-fishable most of the day!
The only water we could fish was the upper reaches which were more Chub water. Not a great day.

Cold overnight, with a sunny start to the day didn't seem to help the barbel fishing. Clouded over at lunch time and all fish came after this during the afternoon.

River was running a bit slower than I expected, Ledgered pellets with PVA bags was the method used.

Decent days fishing - 11 chub up to almost 4 pounds. Caught on feeder with luncheon meat as bait. Nice stretch of river. Unfortunately no barbel

A lovely stretch of river but so difficult to get to the swims. A bit dodgey for a couple of septuagenarians. Again plenty of chub but difficult to find the barbel.
