10.00 start on a warm but cloudy day. Forecast was was shower at start and then another as we were scheduled to pack up. How wrong was that, the rain started at 12.30 and barely stopped until 18.00 when we were packing up.
From previous reports we were expecting access to be an issue which it wasn't at all. We opted for the swim with the steps down in the first field, looked promising and not far to walk, we also fished next swim the other side of the bush. River was low but with slight colour in it. We fished feeder 1/3 way across with 25g enough to hold bottom.
A 3lb+ chub first cast on double sweetcorn started the procession. We only had 1 fish on pellet, most fish falling to meat, but also corn and cheese .
23 chub in total from 4oz to 4.5lb, 18 were over 3lb, of which 6-8 were 4+lb and 5 being under 1lb.
6 barbel to 8.5 lb with 3 on meat and 3 on cheese.
The other was a 6oz dace which took a fancy to 3 pieces of corn on a 12 hook.
Thanks to WUF for enabling access to a wonderful river and great beat, the only potential improvement would be access from the lower end of the beat as it is a long walk. But then again would you walk past these cracking 2 pegs?

HS & DB one 4lb chub, river had risen overnight and was coloured, the riverbed was full of weed which was wooly a bit like candy floss! very few places to fish needs work done to create easier access to swims as the bank is very high

Tried different swims to our usual area for a change and enjoyed a few fish on a windy afternoon/evening. Pellet and bomb tactics and used some hemp too in a near bank swim.

River up about a foot on normal level. Wildlife included egrets and gooseanders.
