Good day with the river falling after overnight rain, but running clear, 8 trout hooked with 6 landed, all nice clean brown trout.

Tried both dry and wet flies ...no takes and no fish to be seen....river seemed devoid of all life except we saw a kingfisher

See stuff jumping and had a salmon follow

River was high and coloured but I thought worth trying for sea trout.
Nothing caught.
Access to the river is difficult in the middle of the beat at Llyscothi Farm. High barbed wire in places and banks overgrown with bramble and balsam. I couldn't find a way through a hedge to the upper part of the beat; needed more time to investigate.
The farmer's wife told me that they see very few anglers these days. Maybe that is to do with the access issues?

Only 1 follow no fish caught

Clothi & Crufbar -Ffroodvale and Gwargorof . The fields to right were full of cows, and a huge Bull was not happy with my presence, so access was restricted to a relatively short 300mtr stretch of left hand bank on the lower side. No success. Decided to move on hoping for

Mynachdu - again cows filled the field leading to the main fishing and after the earlier experience I decided to give it a miss. The riverbank closest to the parking is fenced and overgrown, as such fishing was inaccessible at this location.

Disappointing day as a result of restricted access, but enjoyed a couple of hours nevertheless.

4 small trout all returned. 2 on PT nymph, 2 on DH emerger. Very nice run but spoiled by lots of barbed wire to negotiate and no styles.

Trout fishing on middle Ffroodvale. First time on this beat. Nil return. River falling after rain. A few fish showing but only one take to goldhead nymph. Access instructions not entirely clear (farmer suggested leaving the farm access track at the last corner which is a lot less than 300 yds) and a lot of balsams on the banks.
