Despite fishing hard for 5 or so hours, float and leger, different spots, different baits......not a touch!
Beat 3 and 4, honestly, quite disappointing and too much to pay, says £20 and then you get the admin' charge of £3??
Really quite pretty, but fishing has become expensive and the lack of spontaneity by having to book in advance all needs to be addressed in my opinion if this system is going to be sustainable.
Fishing Passport Note : Booking in advance is not required. You can book on the day providing there is availability. There are many other cheaper and less exclusive club fisheries to choose from if affordability is an issue.

A nice day at Whitney Court. River was in good condition carrying a bit of extra water. Fished several swims for one small and one decent chub. Should really have done better.

Indian summer on the river bank. Fished late afternoon & early evening & every swim produced. All the fish were in tip-top condition with hardly a scale out of place; One louse on the head of a chub (removed)! Regular swan flypasts which looked spectacular against the blue sky, they wanted to be on the wing for some reason today. Spam & pellets again but static baits were accepted with no interest in trotted baits.
Thanks once again to all concerned for our annual holiday & battery recharge.

Everyone caught fish afternoon & evening.Had peregrine falcon fly directly over us & then stoop on some poor bird the far side of the field. Kingfishers kept us entertained. River still up a little bit but very clear. Pellet & spam did the trick again. All barbel pretty much the same size bracket of 5-7lbsish. Do they shoal up by age group? Why don't the smaller & bigger fish take during a session? Need to find out more about the natural history of the barbel; Any good references WUF?
Had a pleasant chat with the Himalayan balsam squad going about their job. Whatever you say about the balsam if you spend a few minutes next to a patch the insect life they attract is quite spectacular..particularly the white bodies bees & hover flies (and personally I think the balsam looks & smells pleasant ). I know it's an invasive species , but isn't everything if you go back far enough...even us!
Wonderful day again ; What more could a man want? Thanks to all concerned that make these magic days possible.

River surprisingly high on arrival middayish, there must have been some overnight rain in Wales which we never saw in Hereford? The water was still quite clear & the level dropped steadily throughout the afternoon/early evening. Fish were in a cooperative mood though with only one quiet period mid afternoon for a couple of hours. Plenty to see though with an almost constant flypast of various duck species, the appearance now & then of a sparrowhawk, Kites & of course the kingfishers. There was a brief hatch at 7ish & of course the sand martins appeared.
The temperature was distinctly autumnal today & cold in the wind. Lost two good fish which felt like barbel. Used spam & pellets on quickstop, barbless hooks & 2oz feeder. The 2 others were dace... how they got hooked taking 1/2" cube of meat I cannot imagine but both hooked in top lip! Obviously quite hungry.
Many thanks to Terry & WUF for a splendid venue with plenty of healthy fish.

Had a lovely morning on the river. Caught 3 Chub, biggest was about 4/5 lb. Never caught this species before so was delighted. Fished 07:00-14:00, all fish caught within first couple of hours. Heavens opened after that and killed the fishing. Hope to come back to get amongst the Barbel another time. If fishing the stretch for the first time, I’d advise entering the second beat by the toll bridge. I found beat 1 and 3 very hard to find/access. Thanks Terry!!!
