Bit nippy this morning ( - 4 degrees ) wish I had brought my hand warmer ! ( zippo are brilliant ) frost stayed around all day in the shade but the sun came out and it didn't seem so bad. The river was spot on quite clear no wind so no leaves which was good! And the cold must have put the trout off because I am usually pested by them here. Fished nymphs all day and purple perdigons were by way the best. Grayling to 15" but 8 of them were very small.

The forecasted rain never came, but I still managed to get wet by falling in just before lunch ! Fished nymphs all day in a very low and clear river. The fishing was difficult at times because of the strong winds. Ended up with a few though with grayling to 15" and trout to 11"

I did not fish river too many canoes in good fishing area and other access points to difficult with steep wooded banks, barbed wire fencing or water too deep to wade.. waste of time and money...moved on and fished Corwen waters much better...

Not a bad day on a beautiful stretch of the Dee, there was a good hatch just after midday but it was a cold day about 11 degrees. Had a good trout around 16 inches long. Only stayed around 4 hours as it was so cold.

Always done well here, can't understand why members of WUF don't fish it more ? .conditions perfect today but I must say the river seemed a lot colder than the last few days on the wye and irfon. Most of the grayling of good size the best two being 15" all the oos trout were small. Euro nymphed all day. Will have to go home soon, sadly wales is about to be locked down!
