River low and clear, with a light downstream wind. Only sporadic hatches during the day, and no fish seen to rise. All fish caught on nymphs, all very healthy, and all returned safely.

Lovely day on this beautiful stretch of the river. Steady hatch most of the day until 5.00pm. Most of the fish were caught on emergers and olives, some on nymphs. Best fish 2lbs approx.

Very strong downstream wind, Intense snow and hailstorms, plus lack of fish makes for a grim day...

Simple beat to find but be careful when accessing the field as the canal bridge with its severe camber is not designed for low clearance cars.
River on the low side and very clear but the issue was a bitterly cold northerly wind. Nymphed with little success then the river came alive for about 30 minutes just after 1pm with a prolific mixed hatch of Grannom and March Browns. Some very decent wbt taken on the surface during this 30 minute frenzy, best a stunning 2.5lb er, still lean from wintering, will surely go to 3lb plus by the end of the season.
Disappointing day really, great beat but that cold northerly wind put it back a month or so.

A beautiful day. Lucky enough to be in the right place for a large hatch of March Browns ( I assume). They came on at midday and lasted for 50 mins then stopped. Missed a number at the rise, lost two and brought a couple of good 15/16" fish to the net, safely returned. A heart stopping hour of fishing. I was delighted to experience for the first time what the Usk is famous for.
