Given the drop in temperature - 0C when we arrived. 9 barbel 4-8lb and 3 lost. 13 chub 1-4lb.

Unfortunately a blank.

Despite the lack of fishable swims had a fabulous day in the down stream end of the beat. 6 cracking barbel, 3 small and 1 not so small chub made for a great day out.

6 Barbel, 4 Chub

Could only fish on the upper section, could not find any accessible swims on the lower section

Not an ideal day due to the strong sun.

If parking in the upper section be careful. The parking area is adjacent to a pile of rubbish and there are a number of nails spread around.

2 Chub

Few 'knocks' but nothing hooked. Arrived late so only fished for two hours before it got dark. Not the most picturesque bit of the Wye.

1 Barbel, 2 Chub

Fished the upper end and there were four decent pegs to fish with the river still quite pacey. Pellets definitely the most productive bait. Best barbel was 8lb 3oz. Chub to 3lb 8oz.

Just 3 barbel all from one swim. On the lower section.
Red Robin pellets.
Nice stretch.

3 Barbel

Caught on pellet, bites were in the afternoon. River still falling from flood the previous week. All bites were midstream, nothing closer in. Needed 5oz to hold as water was pushing. First time on beat, so was exploring swims in morning.
