Started fishing at 10:30 with both rods on the Lower section of the stretch using float trotting with maggot and particles but fishing was very slow but the deeper swims were more productive. Both rods changed to feeder method with meaty hook baits but no real improvement. From 2pm on wards 1 rod moved to the Upper stretch which was much better with 80% of the total catch being made there between 2pm and 6:30pm when the 1 rod departed.
Nothing much caught on lower stretch until 7:30pm when activity intensified with a dozen Chub being g caught during an hour with best fish 2.5lb, Barbel of approx 6lb hooked but lost just at netting. Fishing ended at 20:30.
Haven't fished the Wye for 7 years or so, when my catch would have been 10x that, but the river is much dirtier and thick algae covering all surfaces and alot less aquatic life evident On the lower stretch some very big fish moving about with a couple of the splashers being Salmon not coarse fish.
