was not able to fish today

Alas a fruitless day.

Lovely beat - amazing water. Just one trout on a drop dropper from the bottom pool.

Fishing in the late morning and in the evening. Saw a lot of rising of smaller fish, but they didn't seem particularly interested in our flies. Finally caught a small trout in the very upper part of the beat.

Windy but sunny day. Noted lots of blanket weed on the rocks. Hatches patchy and sporadic, but we had a lot of fun.

Some surface activity in the afternoon and one decent fish lost on a dry olive. A few other takes missed until hatch tailed off around 4:00pm.

Enjoyable day despite limited success and some hefty downpours throughout the day. One fish caught on nymph fished clink and dink style on top section. Mix of flies coming off sporadically and we missed a few takes to dries but the fish didn’t really seem to be that interested - or perhaps that was down to our competence!

I was rather worried by yesterday's rain, but river looked really good. Lost a couple of fish. Missed a few takes. But managed to land one.
