Shall I compare thee to a summer's day ? Despite the full bore sunshine and low twenties heat we caught most of our fish on dries in challenging conditions. My partner stayed on after 6 for the evening rise and found the fish more obliging with the sun off the water. Kingfishers in profusion.

Shared the beat with three otters, two kingfishers and a heron - all more competent fishermen than me!
A hot sunny day with no hatch to encourage much activity. Fished the deeper stretches with a variety of beaded nymphs but with no success .

River level quite low and would probably fish better with a bit more water. Some nice fish showing in the slacker sections, however very difficult to get a fy to them without spooking them. The two pools that top and tail the beat were the most fishable.

A lovely afternoon, although the downstream wind got a bit stronger as the afternoon progressed. Water level was good and overcast. Dry fly was difficult in the wind but had a couple of pulls on the flats. PTN took the only catch, a small WBT bought to hand. Lost another at bottom of beat. Pheasants, andKingfishers were lovely to see but the highlight was a salmon jumping at the pool just down from top of beat....
