Hatches of March Browns and various Olives during early afternoon. All fish caught on dries (Jingler, olive klinkhammer, CDC Dun. ). Largest fish 15 inches, smallest 11 inches

Dull day with no fly and no rise seen between midday and 2.30pm. Only excitement was a mink on the opposite bank.

Warm and sunny at least for the first half of the day. River low and clear. A trickle of March Browns hatching through the middle of the day. Five trout to 15", all returned. Two on nymph and three on dry Jingler. Still can't find the fishing book at the gate referred to in the instructions.

Very low and clear, cold downstream wind, sun. No hatches, saw no fish rise on beat.

There was the odd fish rising downstream but getting an exact location was cold standing waiting for the fish to show again. neither of us caught fish with a few half chances in the afternoon.

Rather like a summer's day - bright blue skies and no cloud. I was hoping for a good midday hatch but it did not materialise . No sign of rising fish. There was also a strongish downstream wind. Stuck to the top of the beat : two fish at 10" - one to the nymph and the other to a spider.

Initial down stream breeze abated , followed by warm sunshine. Patchy hatch of Olives , no gteat surface activity. Caught one lively fish 10 oz
