A blank, althuogh a couple of chances missed and one or two fish rising. Low clear water, cold with a gusty downstream wind. Some LDOs and March browns in short sporadic hatches in the middle of the day but the fish dont seem to have switched on to them. Dry fly produced the chances - nothing seemed to want to touch a nymph. Lovely beat. Worth crossing the river and fishing the left bank on the lower section.

A beautiful stretch of water. I fished downstream wet fly/spiders in riffles and dry fly / nymph over the glides. The river is low, very few LDO coming off - no rises or trout seen. None caught, but will come back!

Partially sunny, no wind, river low and clear. Trickle of olives from mid-morning, slightly bigger hatch at around 2pm and some trout showing then. Caught 1 on dry fly then, and one earlier on a nymph.

First time on this beat, beautiful dry fly water with the majestic Brecon Beacons as a back drop.Fished with long leader nymphs while waiting for an early afternoon hatch to start and caught my first fish of the season (15") below the bridge on a size 14 copper head hares ear jig.Around 1.30pm LDO's started coming off the riffles and four fish were caught with several others pricked on a size 14 Deer hair quill bodied emerger.I look forward to coming back when the weather warms up.

Clear water running at an average height at just 4 degs. Hard frost meant it was pretty cool all day. No fish seen or caught, but a pleasure to return to this lovely stretch of water. Had a great day

This beat is much better for access than Ashford House but despite that we didn't connect with any fish. Water level dropping but temperature only 6 deg C at best with a wind chill bringing it down further. Still we polished off the rest of the Pork Pie with some Fullers London Pride followed by cheese and biscuits.
Would like to return in the Summer.

Very cold conditions but perseverance and a sinking line got the fly to where the fish were sheltering from the fast stream. Good effort all round but no lunch so not as happy as those members at Ashford House.
