We were lucky to see some rain this weekend and I had booked LLangoed in the hope of seeing plenty of movement. To my amazement there were just about no fish in evidence at all. I saw a couple of small rises and one smallish salmon and that was it. I caught 6 trout up to 1/2 lb, one of which was a bluey silvery colour. I can't believe it was a smolt; they've all gone now surely. Could it be a 'blue trout'?

Again, the river was very coloured. Lots of rain and sometimes warm blue sky. I saw no fish activity all day, while lots of salmon jumps on the rectory the day before. I caught 2 trouts on cascade tubes.

1 x coloured cock salmon, 28 inches, from Chapel Catch on size 12 Black Pennell fished on the dropper. Again fishing small flies with a switch rod. We wanted rain and boy did we get it this afternoon. It was really pouring, but there came that magic half hour with the level lifted by a few inches, but before the river coloured, which brought a few residents on to the take.
