Tried wet flies and nymphs but don't think I had any takes. Saw one or two rises between 2pm and 6pm but didn't fish dry fly because so few rises. The other rod on the beat told me he'd caught fish the previous evening from about 7pm on dry fly but I left the river before then.
I hope to fish this marvelous beat again. The river here is very beautiful and the flow so varied and full.
Thank you for enabling me to fish in such glorious surroundings.

Beautiful conditions, unfortunately I only had until lunchtime. Loads of fly life coming off. No fish caught and only a few rising in the Bridge neck. I couldn't tempt them to take a fly. I was informed by another angler that early evening was the time to be there.

Fished dry fly and nymphs. Beat was very quiet. Hardly saw a fish and didn't catch one.

Very hot weekend with bright sunshine. Lovely stretch of river with good water levels and clear water. Fished with dries and nymphs to no avail. Few trout rising during the day.

Evening session, couldnt get any by the bridge, though lots of big rises. Got a few bites on the flats. Finally got one on GRHE, had a large beaded nymph below that to get the GRHE down to the bottom water very fast. Will try Czech nymphing next time. Lovely beat, great setting, I'll be back.

Two on the hook but not to net, both on dries, missed a couple more, wasn't to be my day. Few fish rising with sporadic hatches. Bright sunlight complemented stunning location but made fishing tough.

I only managed about a hours fishing before the river coloured up but this did provide me with 1x brown trout of approx 1.5lbs from the pool immediately below the top bridge. Not a very pretty thing with hints of "stockie" about it i.e. poor colours and fin quality.

Despite pretty ideal conditions we could only manage 3 fish between us - all small but in great condition and great 'scrappers' - all safely returned.

A fantastic day, Olives and March Browns hatching, also a fall of black gnats when it warmed up around lunch time.
Saw some good fish moving, could not fool them all. Small CDC Emerger type flies and CDC and Elk worked on the rising fish I spotted.
