Apart from one small section the wading is extremely challenging unless you have a stick and know what you are doing. One 3/4 pound brown to a natural nymph. Broken off on the same fly by another. Lost two on dries, on and off again, but very few rising fish and only in very short bursts. Not a beat I'd return to.

River very clear, small amounts of sun. A few fly coming off but no rising fish. Two nice trout…3/4 lb and 1 1/4lb to a GRHE nymph and a dropper with a silver invicta. 5 other pulls in different parts of river. All in slower glides.

River looking beautiful. 9 trout between 1-2lb. Lovely day on the water. Large Dark Olives hatching from 10am - 1pm and then the odd March brown. Some rising fishing and missed a couple. All 9 fish took a deep sunk nymph fishing klink and dink. Thank you WUF for another lovely day on the water.

A howling downstream wind and hail made fishing tricky but a lovely stretch of water and a privilege to explore it. No fish rising but a few brave March Browns showing.

Hard to imagine more perfect-seeming conditions, the water on the way down, bright and clear. Once again, however, the fish only seemed to feed at all during the hatch (such as it was). Despite a great deal of trying, I managed only two trout both around the pound. Not what you would call lavish but a beautiful day on the river.

Another wintry, drizzly old day with the river back up after yesterday’s rain. The fish were slightly more cooperative however with most coming to a jig streamer but one coming to a dry during a brief and sparse olive hatch in early afternoon.

Four fish up to a 1lb all taken on nymphs, with a small red tag being the favourite. Didn't start fishing until later than planned so only had a few hours, and it took me a while to find where the fish were holding. Nothing hatching but a good chance I'd just missed it - a lovely, untouched beat that I had all to myself. Tricky wading over bedrock in places but a good mixture of pools, riffles and runs.

Fenni Fach is a lovely beat although I only got to fish about half of it. There’s lots of interesting water to go at. Most of my fish came to nymphs fished in the riffles but I did manage a couple on a small DHE on one of the flats. Waders beware: there are some very deep sections about halfway up the beat.
