Lovely beat. Good conditions but I really struggled. No real rise until later in the evening but the water was so clear that the fish were easily spooked. A blank unfortunately but some lovely relaxation.

The water looked about right, but I only saw small trout. Fished 2.30 to 8.0. Caught one of about 6oz.

One trout c.1.5lb on a Klinkhammer from a run at the top end of the beat and 3 other 1/2lb fish. All returned.

Hard day - very few fish moving - eventually caught a decent fish just over a pound. Nice note left on my windscreen by the owner welcoming fishermen back

I was only able to fish for a few hours in the afternoon, but there were enough olives about to bring trout to the surface, and I had wonderful sport with emergers until 3:30 or so, when fish stopped rising. For a brief moment, all was right with the world.

The river was in perfect condition. We caught half our fish on dries and the rest with a french leader fishing the ruffles and deeper pools. It’s a lovely varied beat and one we will be revisiting sometime in the future.
