Very low water and bight sunshine made things difficult. A pretty beat (sewage treatment excepted - the beat description never mentioned that!)

We found the fishing difficult due the lack of water. We were fishing for trout and both had a blank day.

A great days fishing, we all call decent fish the biggest 3.5lb

Lovely stretch of water, particularly on the lower beat. 2 browns under a lb caught early on casting to rising fish. Quietened down in the early afternoon. 1 brown of a similar size taken on the upper beat.

Weather warm and sunny, with an annoying upstream breeze

Fished from the bridge up, looking for rises. Found some nice trout 12-14 inches in one pool catching five of this size. The next pool had smaller 6-8 inch fish caught three of those.

Other than that the river was very quiet with few rises.

Total blank. Really nice beat with stunning scenery but unfortunately we didn’t see one fish rise. Walked most of the beat but only rewarded by the fantastic scenery.

4 decent sized trout, two about 16-17 inches and two probably pushing 21-22 inches. All in good condition and returned safely

Contact nymphing and duo. Fish between 11” and 18”. Three other good fish slipped the hook.
