Always seems to be a hot sunny day when I come here, and today was no exception. River was nice and full, so very different to previous visit.
Intermittent downstream wind.
All caught on nymphs. First 2 fish were lovely, holding in shallow water.

Good river flow. A lovely beat with a variety of conditions. Few rises, mostly nymphing techniques used. Couple of lost fish - none landed. Cattle in field very inquisitive - enclosure very useful to protect cars.

Stronger wind than expected had a big impact on this very open accessible beat- not a take on nymphs and only saw one rising fish-put a crippled mayfly pattern over it and it was game on. Just getting the net out and away went the fish! Hung on until 7pm, but still blowy. Although the river is low, there is plenty of water to fish. Must try it on a calmer day.

A wonderful afternoon on a great section of the river. Despite the low flow level there were a few pools holding trout. we spent much of the afternoon in the shade doing very little and I imagine that any sensible trout would be doing the same. There were plenty of olives coming off all day and fish started to rise later in what was a glorious evening. 3 trout of about 1lb caught on olive spinner patterns.

Warm and sunny. River low.
All fish caught on nymphs, and all a good size - including my PB which I reckon was 3lb.... had to sit down once I'd got it in!

A great section of the river. Despite the low flow level there were plenty of deeper pockets holding trout. Caught four decent fish on a bead head pheasant tail nymph and rose two more to a grey Wulff, but couldn't make them stick. There was a trickle of olives coming off all day and fish rising in the back eddies eating spinners and shucks.
