River level at 1'3" on the webcam at Trostrey: perhaps a little bit high for easy wading on this beat. None the less, a very enjoyable couple of hours dry fly fishing in the evening. 1 X trout of 14", taken on a size 14 Tups Indispensable. Several other strikes missed, mainly at the top end of the beat. Thanks to WUF Booking Office.

First time at Old Clytha, stunning place. River was flowing at a fair rate, but a cold, strong wind steadily built through the day. Plenty of fly life and a rise started, but the wind stopped it later.

One Brown Trout to a single nymph, perhaps a few more next time.

Lovely day with two trout caught and safely returned , both roughly half a pound. Bright hot sunshine in the morning with an upstream breeze, clouded over in the afternoon , breeze dropped and a few fish started to rise. Pretty stretch of the river.

A nice short beat but I could only access the bottom of the beat near the bridge due to the high banks, no fish for me but I only did a short 90 minute session, I was spinning today but the area I was in could be fished with a double handed fly rod, I will return as the price is very reasonable.
A bit confused on where to park as no key box on the gate just a piece of rope !!!

River was in flood, very high and very fast. The small island which can be used as a platform to cast to the corner pool was submerged and inaccessible.
Fishing from the banks very difficult at the top of the beat thanks to the height of banks behind.
We found a couple of places where we could side cast out though and gave it a good go, and trout were rising in the afternoon but not for whatever we tried them with in the fast flowing water. I think a mix of the pace of the river and us not choosing the right flies to cast in those conditions combined to leave us blank (not so much as a tickle!) but we had a lovely day regardless. Beautiful spot too.

River was high and fishing difficult. Spotted one very large trout in a side pool but he did not want to play

Great clear evening, fished from around 5pm to 9:30pm. Numerous rises throughout the evening but lots of activity on the surface from around 8:30pm. Two caught on dry black Knat fly both at lower end of the beat. Two brownies caught were around 11” and 8” and both returned safely.

Lovely couple of hours fishing, water quite low and very clear. Around 8pm the mayflies and spinners appeared in good numbers and the trout responded. Sadly I had to leave soon after 8 so missed it!
Will be back

Good evening fishing. Nothing happened until about 7pm and then there were a good number of fish rising, mainly to egg-laying mayfly and yellow mays.

Beautiful beat, beautiful day.
A couple of showers, but otherwise fair - cloud with occassional sunshine.
River clearing and falling , but still little sign of fly life or the presence of fish.
Fished wets and nymphs through all the obvious lies, with no success.!
