Scenic spot & the sun shone, but no fish. Water level still quite low. Some algae in places near the bank. A couple of fish rising at the lower end, but that was it! A Swan & Kingfisher visiting was nice at least..

First time ever fly fishing, beautiful stretch of river, beautiful weather. Loads of small fry, only a few decent size trout seen topping, none caught but had a few small chubb on the fly. Absolutely loved the wading as used to bank and boat fishing.

Lovely day. Hooked a decent fish but broke off on a small dry with badger hackle. Saw a number of larger fish in the central section. Lots of swans around which needed to be negotiated around. at least 5 cygnets at present, possibly 6.
A reasonable number of trout rising at various times. Weather got very bright and sunny around 2pm and couldn't stay till later for the evening, so left around 2:30pm. lovely place.

A chilly day with occasionally a stiff, cool breeze, despite the sunshine. A short but lovely and varied beat. A consistent hatch especially of yellow mayflies, but the fish didn't seem to be that interested in the duns and most of the sporadic rises looked to be to emergers and the occasional mayfly spinner. Fish were taken to a mayfly spinner and downstream nymph, with a good number of additional takes on the surface missed. This is definitely a beat to fish again.

Saw several fish rise, but sadly no bites. River looked on good condition, with several fly hatches throughout the day.

First outing of the season, plenty of flies hatching and few fish rising though difficult to tempt. First trout of season caught on a beadhead hares ear nymph and was 16" so well pleased with that, missed a rise to a Jingler. Nice beat.
