Single rod fished. Varied day with warm sunshine followed by cloud and then rain. Cooler and windier in the evening than Friday so not such a prolific evening rise. 3 BT again caught, all on emergers.

Only single rod fished. Mainly overcast evening but warm with plenty of hatching fly & spinners on the water meaning a lively evening rise. 3 BT caught with several others lost ( first fishing session of 2024 so rather rusty !)

Dire. Catastrophic bank erosion, the river is completely inaccessible along the entire length of the beat. Fallen trees and soft mud on the top third make access impossible. The lower two thirds are only accessible if you have a 15’ ladder in your rucksack.

Didn’t fish. High banks and electric fences for the cattle just made it too difficult to access the water so I gave up and went to a different beat.

Almost didn't fish due to the very wet weather forecast from midday, but got up early to get a few hours in the morning. In the overcast conditions it fished quite well for a couple of hours before the heavy rain came - a decent hatch of pale wateries, also low numbers of a few other mayfly species inluding yellow may, olive upright and large brook dun - caught two nice trout off the top.

River clear and 1'1". There were LDOs hatching in the am, but trout ignored them. But fish did rise later in the am to something much smaller.
Access to the river is limited at this height of water. Banks are steep or vertical ! The top of the beat is only accessible through a jungle of rafted-trees and branches, Himalyan Balsam, Japanese knotweed, nettle and brambles.
Lovely to see kingfishers and lots of sand martins that were setting up their colony.
3 trout on dry flies
