Water nice and clear, pushing through a bit. No sign of any fly life all day. GC had a nice small grayling on the nymph and DC a WBT on a brown dry. Nice day out and thanks to the Colonel and W & U.

Lovely few hours , water pushing hard. 6 to hand, all taken in a one hour period. not a touch after.

We caught five grayling, which were all about 1lb, using weighted bugs and nymphs. The river was clear but quite high, as a result we were not able to access all pools we would like to have.

We look forward to fishing this beat again when the river is a little lower. MP & RJ.

5 Grayling

Used duo nymphs but nothing caught, or seen. Rod Rings freezing up, temperature -2 and foggy (not quite what was forecast !!!) The water was gin clear and there was very little breeze. We really struggled today, perhaps someone could put some advice on site to help us regarding flies to use in these tough cold conditions, despite all the negatives it was still so much better than working.

River still high and pushing through hard. Fished French nymph only connected with 2 Grayling

2 Grayling

River was a little bit high (0.65 on the Cilmeri gauge), weather was dry yet cold and at times there was bright sunshine, northerly wind blew up at times but on the whole not as windy as expected. All Grayling were caught on nymphs: shrimp patterns, pheasant tail variant and the salmon took a gold head gold ribbed hare's ear.

River running over .8 when we started having been 2.5 two days ago, we expected it high and cloudy , it was high but clear
minus 2degrees when we started, bugging for grayling. all fish on pink heavy gribs/ shrimps
hard day with only a few dropped fish, smashing beat which I'm sure would be very nice in lower water

upstream nymphing, very cold ice in sheets on the field, we had one each within 1/2 hour of starting but then struggled all day

River running hard and water very coloured particularly from the side stream which was very red and silt laden. Only a single fish taken which was returned. Lovely beat which I am sure would fish well given better conditions
