2 hours evening fishing - not a sniff and nothing showing

Very first visit to this beat and WUF directions were on the money. A phone call was necessary to confirm visit. Very muddy as shown and my wadding stick helped to get me to the river. No luck today. Only fished straight line nymphing in all deepest poles. Water was coloured but not too much. Cold wind didn't help. Early finish and pub in Builth Wells to catch the footy.

Only had a couple of hours in the end but no fish caught. River level was good and water clear. I was euro style nymphing.

Parking area has big piles of stone there, I only just managed to park my car off the track and not infront of the gate.

Very cold but we managed a few fish on a great beat

Great beat but no fish seen or caught.

fished from 11.30am to 2.30pm Cilmery gauge 0.69 First time here River clear and accessible Just one large trout, one strong take and missed i presume a trout, and one other missed all on red tag( No grayling!) Nice few hours ,good to be back out after all this rain.

It was lovely weather, maybe a bit too sunny for angling. I fished from about 1pm to 4pm using nymphs. I saw 2 fish rise (1 was tiny) but touched nothing myself. I've taken up nymph fishing later in life, and am still learning ( I hope so anyway). The water seemed to be at a perfect height and colour - very clear and a slight tone of whisky. Beautiful surroundings.

1 small brownie on a Red-Neck PTN

River very low. Tried beaded nymphs in the deeper spots without success. A few risers tucked under the trees in the late afternoon. Fished upstream where access was tricky and probably impossible in normal flows if you couldn't cross the river. Nice spot.
