Another great day on the Wye.Conditions were good but very little fly life. A March Brown nymph did the trick.
Had my PB below the fishing lodge,14 ins.Only had them any bigger on the end of a Salmon fly.
Of course we will be back .

The relative shelter of the fishing hut deceived us while we were setting up and the stiffish north-westerly breeze soon had us heading back to the car for more layers. The cold didn't deter the grannom hatch around midday, but it did seem to keep the fish pretty quiet. We saw only the odd sporadic rise and all the fish came to weighted nymphs. A lovely day though and great to be back on this delightful stretch of river.

Lots of granom flying although very little hatching, think they came off the day before.
A few fish rising especially in the morning to egg layers. Temperature suddenly dropped in the late afternoon, and ended the sport after a glorious hot sunny day.
Trout to about 10 inch, and a few out of season grayling, some of the larger fish looked a little worse for ware presumably after spawning.
